I will see the following symbols in this visual story.
They will help me identify and prepare for spaces that may have bright lights, smells, or sound.

Rules at Outback Splash

  • I cannot bring third party catering, glass or my own alcoholic drinks into Outback Splash.
However there are a range of food & beverage options available for me to purchase. I can bring my own picnic -style lunch if I wish.
  • I should keep my hands clean to ensure that I am not spreading germs. There are bathrooms with hand washing facilities available to me throughout the park.
  • If I need to cough or sneeze, I should do so into my arm, & if I feel sick or have cold & flu symptoms, I should stay home until I feel better.
  • Sometimes Attractions can be busy & there may be long waiting times. I can use my phone or a sensory item whilst I wait.
  • I can take photos throughout my day on my own device; however, I will not be permitted to take my device onto some rides & attractions for safety reasons and will always be mindful of other Guests. I cannot use a Drone in the venue and cannot take Go-Pro’s on Attractions.
  • Outback Splash has some intense Waterslides. I will follow the instructions of team members & signage to make sure I have a safe & fun day.
  • I am permitted to bring my service animal into the park, as long as they are wearing their working vest at all times and I present my valid Accreditation Card.
  • I must wear appropriate clothing and swimwear whilst in the park. If I do not, I may be turned away from certain Attractions.

Outback Splash Map

I can download the Outback Splash Park Map from their website prior to my arrival.

Park Map

I can then save the map to my mobile device to look at throughout my day.
I can also view the large Park Maps located around the park whilst i am in the venue.

preparing for my day once i’m at the park

  • I can expect to hear Music playing throughout the park. If it gets too loud for me, i can wear my headphones.
  • If i need to use the bathrooms prior to entering the park, i can use the restroom facilities located behind the Burger Bar, next to the Admissions Office entrance.
  • If i would like to leave my belongings in my shaded area or on my sun lounge, i am more than welcome to do so. If i do not fell comfortable with this, Outback Splash has hireable lockers in two locations (Splash isiand and the Lagoon). If i would like a safe and secure place to keep my loose items, i can hire a locker for the day.
  • There are two water re-fill stations in the park. One at the Splash isiand toilet block and the other at the Lagoon toilet block.
  • Attractions at Outback Splash have rider requirements/restrictions in place to keep me safe. To help plan my day, i can access FAQ’s and a Ride Overview via Outback Splash’s website – https://www.outbacksplash.com.au/accessibility-and-faq/ . There is also physical signage at the bottom of each Attraction that i can read prior to lining up.
  • If i have specific needs, i can visit the Admissions Office and the team will provide me with further information or notify the appropriate Manager to assist me with what i can safely participate in during my visit.

going on waterslides

  • Waterslides at Outback Splash have a range of safety regulations and rules in place by the manufacturer. Team Members are trained to ensure I have a fun and safe experience when I decide to ride the slides.
  • I will always follow Team members instructions, as rules and restrictions vary from Slide to Slide.
  • If I no longer want to ride a slide, I can raise my hand or vocally notify a team member that I would not like to go down anymore. This is completely okay and Team members will be happy to assist me.
  • Sometimes the rafts on the Raft slides can slow down or come to a stop before the end of the slide. If this happens to me, I will not start to worry. I will await team Members instructions and follow their instructions carefully to ensure I can safely exit the slide.
  • The Blackout and The Wall are the Raft Slides that have flashing lights in them. If I am sensitive to flashing lights, I should not ride these Slides.
  • As Outback Splash is a Water Park, I may faintly smell certain chemicals or chlorine in the slides or pools. If I need a break from the smells, I can take a break and try some dry activities (Mazes and Mini-Golf).
  • Sometimes lines for the slides can be very loud and overwhelming, as well as The Lagoon and Octopus Bay if they are busy. If I am feeling overwhelmed from the noise, I can take myself to the East side of the park and have a breather on the grass or pop my headphones on whilst I wait in line.

other activities at outback splash

  • At Outback Splash, I can also choose from 5 Mazes to have a go at.
  • These Mazes could take me anywhere from 10 minutes to 45 minutes and are located on the East side of the park.
  • Due to the varying lengths of time it takes to complete the mazes, I will ensure I enter each Maze with a bottle of water, appropriate skin protection and footwear.
  • I can also participate in 9-Holes of Mini Golf at Outback Splash. It is included in my ticket and is self-serve. If there are no balls/scorecards/pencils or clubs left, I can ask for assistance from the Admissions Team.
  • As most Mazes ad the Mini Golf are in direct sunlight, if my eyes start to get irritated from the brightness, I can make sure I have my sunglasses with me to put on.
  • Guests around me could be very loud due to excitement within the Mazes and Mini Golf. If it gets too loud for me, I can put my headphones on, or take a breather.

toilets at outback splash

  • I can look for signage around the park, use the park map or ask a Team Member if I need help locating the toilet facilities.
  • There are three toilet locations around the park. The Splash Island and The Lagoon toilet blocks have accessible toilets as well as Family toilets with baby changing facilities and male and female toilets. The only Toilets which are not accessible by Wheelchair are the toilets located behind Burger Bar.
  • If there is something wrong within any restroom (starting to smell etc) around the park, I can make a Team Member aware so they can assist further.

At any point in my day, i can approach a friendly Outback Splash Team Member for assistance.

Outback Splash team Members can help me with:

    appropriate Manager to assist

Outback Splash Team Members are always happy to help me! I will approach in a respectful and calm manner when needing assistance.

sensory warning

Outback Splash is a Waterpark and because of this, I can except to hear loud noises due to crowds, in-park music, announcements and noise from attractions.

There are quiet areas within the park that I can go to when the noise is too overwhelming.

I can go to the large, grassed area on the East side of the park to escape the noise or can exit through the General Admissions gate to the front of the carpark.

I can use the following strategies to help me feel comfortable when the park is too loud:

  • Move to a quieter space

  • Take a break

  • Use noise cancelling headphones

  • Seek assistance from a Team Member

  • If I need assistance locating a quiet space, I can ask for
assistance from an Outback Splash Team Member.

  • I will remember that Outback Splash team Members are
always happy to help me should I need it!

We hope you enjoy your day at
Perth’s Outback Splash!
